There's an ongoing 100 day campaign to promote Philippine Comics on the web.

Each month will have a different topic.   For July, all posts will be about our own comic titles and any trivia about Philippine comics, or what we call KOMIKS.

So as part of this event, I'll be posting CCCom trivia for starters.  I'll try to post as much as I can.
Here's....

Stuff you (probably) didn't know about Culture Crash Comics

- English was the original language of choice for CCCom, with an overwhelming 3 (Jio, Memer, and me) is to 1 vote against Tagalog. But then again, that 1 vote was James' so we had no choice. (Yay! Democracy!) The move to use Tagalog (unheard of at first since the dawn of bangketa komiks) proved to be hard at first, getting criticisms from hardcore anime fans and comic book creators alike. It was like reading dubbed anime, which was neither Pinoy nor Japanese. The move soon paid-off, since the issue died quickly. Fans found the colloquialism quite refreshing and easier to digest since most of the humor would lose its flavor were it done in English.

- I had to take a crash course on Photoshop from Jio and Elmer when we were coloring the first issue of CCCom since I had virtually no experience coloring comics on the PC and Mac. The first issues were pretty crude, with Comic Sans for font and template circles for balloons, countless filters and lens flares… but we had fun doing it, and learned a lot of things along the way. Whenever one of us would discover a shortcut or a way of making things easier on Photoshop, we'd call it "leveling up" and then hum the final fantasy victory jingle. We were such geeks.

(more next time...stay tuned)
